About Us
NorthPaws Veterinary Center believes in modern medicine working hand-in-hand with traditional values. We want you and your pet to feel comfortable and at home while we provide you with the very best in veterinary care. Established in 2004, we are your premiere veterinary and emergency care center in Greenville, Rhode Island.
Our Vision
Our goal at NorthPaws has always been to deliver superior quality medicine and compassionate care to all companion animals. It is our mission to provide outstanding customer service by consistently exceeding expectations and to give our patients the highest quality of veterinary care. Through example and education, we strive to foster and encourage a positive attitude in the community toward pet ownership and the human-animal bond.
NorthPaws has been repeatedly recognized for our outstanding care and service by organizations such as DVM360 Magazine, The Providence Journal, and The Animal Print Magazine.
Our History
For the first six years, NorthPaws resided in a small historic 1850s Victorian home nestled in the heart of Greenville, RI. With only a few doctors and a handful of exam rooms we worked hard to build our reputation as a leader in veterinary care. It wasn't long before we earned accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a prestigious recognition of quality that only six other hospitals in the entire state of Rhode Island can say they've achieved (for more information see our AAHA Accreditation page).
In 2011 we successfully completed a major renovation that transformed our original building into a state-of-the-art facility that caters to the comfort and care of our animal friends. From our separate cat and dog parlors, furnished with plush armchairs and couches, to our "hidden" business areas which keep phone calls private and the front desk focused on clients, the entire facility was designed with our clients' comfort in mind. In 2014, DVM360 recognized us as a top provider of dread-free patient care.
In addition, we have made a concerted effort to promote sustainability and protect the environment for future generations by using recycled and reused materials, a geothermal heating system, and energy-effecient lighting. Our renovation project was highlighted in RetroFit Magazine as a prime example of improving yesterday's buildings into state-of-the-art facilities. In 2014 we acquired West Bay Animal Hospital in Warwick, soon thereafter renaming it WestPaws Veterinary Center. This additional facility has allowed us to expand our reach while continuing to provide the highest quality of care and service to our clients and their pets.
